“Time in a Bottle: Songs of the ’70s” is a heartfelt tribute to the golden age of singer-songwriters, when songs were intimate, poetic, and deeply personal. Nashville duo Swearingen & Kelli join longtime friend and tenor Jonathan Beedle to bring the era’s most memorable music to life.
This marks Swearingen & Kelli’s fourth performance at the Coggon Opera House. Originally created as a symphonic pops program, Time in a Bottle honors artists such as Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell, Peter Paul & Mary, John Denver, America, Paul Simon, Bonnie Raitt, Neil Young, and Roberta Flack through rich storytelling and outstanding musicianship.
Seating is by general admission only. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the door or reserved for will-call by leaving a message at (319) 435-2071. Your call will be returned to confirm your tickets. Payment by cash or check only. Doors open 30 minutes beforehand.
The Coggon Community Historical Society will hold an Ice Cream Social and Supper from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the show. It will be held at Historical Hall on Main Street (1/2 block from the Opera House).
